Indian capital markets headed north even today, May 11, 2017. NSE Nifty hit another record high of 9,451 intra-day, closing above the 9400-mark for a second consecutive day.
Indian capital markets headed north even today, May 11, 2017. NSE Nifty hit another record high of 9,451 intra-day, closing above the 9400-mark for a second consecutive day.
At the closing bell, Nifty ended at 9,422.40 with a gain of 15.10 points. The BSE Sensex also closed above the 30,000-mark at 30,250.98, up by 2.81 points. On the NSE, 29 shares closed in the green, while 22 shares ended the day in the red.
All indices closed in the green, except Nifty Bank, Nifty PSE, BSE Small Cap, BSE Capital Goods and BSE Oil & Gas. BSE Consumer Durable and Nifty Auto gained more than 100 points each. BSE Consumer Durable made the highest gains, rising most than 262 points. BSE Healthcare and BSE Metals also gained more than 70 points each. The Mid-cap index increased 7.59 points, however, the Small-cap index was down by 8.25 points.
Asian markets traded mixed on Friday. Shanghai was up by 0.29 per cent, Hang Seng gained by 126.39 points. Nikkei increased by 110.13 points. European markets were trading with negative sentiments at the time of filing this report at 1600 hours.
