Titan & Nilkamal lift BSE Consumer Durable index above 16,000-mark

Titan touched its fresh 52-week high in today's session, while Nilkamal declared a dividend of Rs 7 per share, subject to the shareholders' approval.

The BSE Consumer Durable index was the top performer on Thursday with Titan leading the way.

Titan was the top index gainer, notching up a gain of nearly 4.12 per cent. Nilkamal was up by almost 2 per cent at Rs 2260. Put together, both Titan and Nilkamal contributed to almost 90 per cent of the BSE Consumer Durable index gains.

Crompton was the other major contributor to the index gains.

Symphony closed 0.8 per cent up , Whirlpool was up by 0.6 per cent, whereas Bluestar was down by 1.74 per cent, PC Jeweller was down by 1.07 per cent and Videocon Industries was down by 0.3 per cent.

Broader markets mostly closed flat on Thursday, after the benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty touched their record highs in the first half of the trading session.
