CBI raids Chidambaram properties over INX media, Indrani-Peter Mukerjea case

In a blow to the former Union Minister P Chidambaram, the CBI raided various places connected to the ex-minister and his son, Karti, on the account of alleged favours conferred to INX Media in 2007 over foreign investment clearance, according to a leading news portal.

The raid was reportedly carried out in places in and around Chennai, Mumbai, Gurugram and Delhi.
A case against INX Media is also reportedly registered by the CBI with accusations of cheating, criminal conspiracy, bribery, and illegal conduct on the company’s directors Peter Mukerjea and Indrani Mukerjea.
However, P Chidambaram in a comment to media persons, denied of any accusations and blamed the government of using the CBI to target him and his son.
