Sensex closes in greens thanks to ITC; SBI the top index loser

BSE FMCG gained 3 per cent, BSE IT gained 0.34 per cent, BSE Consumer durables was up by 0.61 per cent.

ITC saved the day for the benchmark index as it gained more than 6 per cent and closed at Rs 303.65 per share on Monday. ITC was the top index gainer and single-handedly pulling Sensex up thus allowing the benchmark index to close 106 points up or 0.35 per cent, at 30570.97 levels.

SBI was the biggest index loser along with Lupin.

BSE FMCG gained 3 per cent, BSE IT gained 0.34 per cent, BSE Consumer durables was up by 0.61 per cent.

BSE healthcare was down by 1.64 per cent, BSE Auto index closed down by 0.77 per cent, BSE Bankex was down by 0.61 per cent, BSE Oil & Gas was down by 1.28 per cent, BSE Realty was down by 1.29 per cent and BSE Metal was down by 0.56 per cent.
