Nifty, Sensex touch all-time highs, ICICI Bank hits 52-week high

Indian equity markets traded flat on Wednesday. Nifty closed at 9621, hitting a high of 9649 intra-day on May 31, 2017, while BSE Sensex ended at the record high of 31,255 in Wednesday's trade.

At the closing bell, Nifty ended at 9621.25, down by 9.80 points and BSE Sensex closed at 31,145.80, down by 13.60 points. On NSE, out of 1531 total scrips, 645 scrips closed in the red while 835 scrips ended the day in green and about 51 scrips remained unchanged.

BSE mid-cap index closed at 14637.01, up by 147.25 per cent and BSE small-cap index closed at 15087.69, up by 163.65 per cent.

M&M, the top gainer in Nifty closed at Rs 1,413.70 per share, up by 3.86 per cent. In the quarter ended on March 2017, M&M reported surge in the profit by 26.3 per cent to Rs 873.72 crore.  While Vedanta was the top Nifty loser which closed at Rs 238.65 per share, down by 2.55 per cent.

For the first time, the Bank Nifty closed at 23400 level, up by 117 points. ICICI Bank closed at Rs 327 on NSE, up by 1.74 per cent
