BSE SME IPO index soars 53%

In the year ending on June 2, the BSE SME IPO index has soared 53%. Meanwhile, the BSE IPO index has gained 40.22%. On the other side, the barometer index Sensex rose 16.50%.

The S&P BSE SME IPO index consists of the listed SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) companies via IPO on the BSE platform. This BSE SME IPO index constituents have gained more than those listed on the main exchange, in a period of one year ending on June 2, 2017.
Till May 2017, eight IPOs were listed on the main exchange raising Rs 6335.93 crore, whereas in the same period 44 SME IPOs got listed on the exchange raising Rs 553.65 crore, only.
67 companies raised Rs 537.27 crore on the SME platform while 26 companies raised Rs 26,493.84 crore on the main platform, making 2016 a massive year for the IPOs.
