The beverages giant Coca-Cola is planning to foray into the frozen desserts market in India, in a bid to widen its range of products beyond carbonated beverages and into fruit-based or other healthier drinks.

Amul and Hindustan Unilever are expected to face tough competition from Coca- Cola, in the ice-cream segment in India, which accounts for nearly Rs 10,000 crore.
Earlier on Monday, company’s new chief T Krishnakumar had announced that it will inject Rs 11,000 crore for introducing a slew of fruit-based products in the coming five years.
