GMR group is exploring opportunities to increase its footprints in airport business to many overseas countries. In order to do so, it plans to bid for the expansion and modernisation of Nikola Tesla Airport of Belgrade in Serbia and Kingston Airport in Jamaica, reported a leading news agency.
"We are bidding for Belgrade and Jamaica airport," said GMR Airports President Siddharth Kapur.
The group is developing Mactan Cebu international airport in the Philippines in partnership with Megawide Construction Corporation. It has also won the bid to build Goa’s second airport last year.
GMR Infrastructure was trading higher by 0.2% at Rs 20.05 per share at 0953 hours IST on BSE.
GMR Airports Ltd, a subsidiary of GMR Infrastructure Ltd, has also won the bid to develop and operate a greenfield airport at Heraklion in Greece with the Greek company GEK Terna as its partner in the project.
