It has received US Food & Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) approval for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Candesartan Cilexetil Tablets, 32 mg, the company informed the bourses on Wednesday.
Candesartan Cilexetil Tablets are indicated for treatment of hypertension in adults and children and treatment of heart failure.
Meanwhile, at Rs 530 per share at 1114 hours IST on BSE, Alembic Pharmaceuticals was trading up by 1.3%. It hit a high of Rs 545 and a low of Rs 522 so far during the day.
The stock has underperformed the BSE Mid-cap and BSE Healthcare Index over a period of one year. Its closest peers are Alkem Laboratories and Torrent Pharmaceuticals.
