SpiceJet was trading higher by 0.6% at Rs 132.60 per share at 0918 hours on BSE. The stock touched a new 52-week high value of Rs 133.40.
SpiceJet, the domestic low-cost carrier, has collaborated with a US-based company for lighter seats which offer more legroom on the aircraft. The new seats will be retrofitted in SpiceJet’s existing Boeing 737 Next Gen fleet. It will also fit news seats in its first 50 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

The agreement with LIFT by EnCore is for the product line called Tourist Class Seating. According to SpiceJet, it will increase comfort and convenience of passengers and enhance customer experience.
The airline would be able to reduce its fuel costs due to reduction in weight of seats.
