GST effect: Tata Motors reduces passenger vehicles price

Tata Motors, an automobile company, announced on July 5, 2017 a price reduction by up to Rs 2.17 lakh of its passenger vehicles in order to pass the GST benefit to their customers.

Tata Motors after Maruti Suzuki, Ford and Honda have decided to offer a reduction in price of up to 12 per cent ranging between Rs 3,300 and Rs 2,17,000 based on the model and variant.
 
Model wise prices for the offering have not yet been shared by the automaker Tata Motors, but expect to see a substantial difference on the Tata Safari Storme and Hexa models. Higher price reduction was seen in the markets like Mumbai and Bangalore   with high GST tax slab.

On July 5,2017, Tata Motors was trading at Rs 264.85, up by 0.91 per cent on BSE at 1313 hours. It opened at Rs 262.95 while on Tuesday it closed at Rs 262.45. It touched its intraday high and low at Rs 267.40 and Rs 262.95. S&P BSE Auto was trading at 23761.70, up by 0.67 per cent.

On July 4,2017, Mahindra and Mahindra posted a price reduction of its utility vehicles and SUVs by up to 6.9 per cent on an average.
