Stock of Tata Teleservices, an internet and broadband tele communication service provider gained as much as 6% on talks of merger of telecom companies, Tata Group and Bharti Enterprises, reported a news agency on Friday.

Tata Teleservices gained 6% to reach Rs 7.75 per share on the BSE, after the development took place.
Discussions between both sides have revolved around a possible merger between Tata Teleservices, Tata Communications and Tata Sky with the Sunil Mittal-owned Bharti Airtel which includes its wholly-owned DTH arm.
The report added that the two companies have held tentative talks to evaluate a mega alliance involving their telecom, overseas cable and enterprise services, and direct-to-home TV businesses.
