Union Minister Gadkari says panel to decide on modalities for Air India disinvestment yet to meet

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has informed that the group of ministries set up to decide on the modalities for Air India disinvestment is yet to hold its first meeting

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has informed that the group of ministries set up to decide on the modalities for Air India disinvestment is yet to hold its first meeting, a national news agency reported.
 
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley led group of ministers, has been set up to look into various aspects of Air India disinvestment.
 
Gadkari is also a member of the ministerial panel which will decide Air India’s fate.

Air India has a debt burden of more than Rs 52,000 crore.
 
Earlier, the Cabinet has given its in-principle nod for considering strategic disinvestment of the debt-burdened Maharaja and five of its subsidiaries.
 
Asked about the ministerial group on Air India, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, "So far, no meeting has happened."
