AUM drops by 0.40 per cent in June: ICRA

According to the mutual funds data released by rating agency ICRA, the Balanced, Equity, as well as Equity Linked Savings Schemes (ELSS) witnessed a strong net inflow in the month of June, 2017. The net inflow for Balanced, Equity and Equity Linked Savings Schemes (ELSS) stood at Rs. 7,458 crore, Rs. 7,453 crore, and Rs. 711 crore, respectively.
Whereas, the net inflow for Equity funds (including ELSS) stood at Rs. 8,164 crore for June.
The Assets Under Management (AUM) of the mutual fund industry dropped 0.40 per cent to Rs. 18.96 lakh crore in June 2017 from a Rs. 19.04 lakh crore in May 2017.
The total folio count witnessed a rise of around 1.8 per cent in the corresponding month from its count in May 2017. The total folio count stood at 5.82 crore in June 2017, according to the data released by market overseer, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
The data released by AMFI said that the gross commission earned by mutual fund distributors nearly doubled in the past three years, rising from Rs 2,603 crore in FY14 to Rs 4,987 crore in FY17.
In accordance with the asset wise composition, the individual investors showcased a higher preference for equity funds at nearly 53 per cent. While the institutional investors preferred debt-oriented funds at 85 per cent, of which around 32 per cent were in the form of liquid schemes.
