WPI inflation declines to 0.9% in June

The rate of inflation based on WPI Food Index consisting of food articles from primary articles group and food product from manufactured products group decreased from 0.15% in May, 2017 to -1.25% in June, 2017.
Based on monthly WPI,the annual rate of inflation, stood at 0.90% (provisional) for the month of June 2017 (over June,2016) as compared to 2.17% (provisional) for the previous month and -0.09% during the corresponding month of the previous year. Build up inflation rate in the financial year so far was -0.44% compared to a build up rate of 3.71% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Rising by 0.8%, the index for Coal group reached to 117.5 (provisional) from 116.6 (provisional) for the previous month due to higher price of coking coal (2%).
Declining by 0.7%, the index for electricity group reached to 102 (provisional) from 102.7 (provisional) for the previous month due to lower price of electricity (1%).
