Second round of bidding for DSF to take place in October

After the U.S. and China, India is the third largest consumer of petroleum products. The country’s share of global demand is expected to grow from the current 5.5% to 9% by 2035.

October will witness the second round of bidding for discovered small and marginal fields (DSF) in the petroleum industry.
 
About 60 blocks will be on offer for the second round. These blocks have been shortlisted by the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH), which will be put before the ministry of petroleum and natural gas for clearance.
 
Blocks were awarded to 30 companies comprising 23 onshore and seven offshore ones, during the first round of DSF. There were e-bids of 134 and number of participants stood at 47.
 
The Open Acreage Licensing (OAL) policy round and the DSF rounds are considered vital for reducing of import, in the schedule approved by the ministry.
