Buzzing Stock: Adani Power gets green clearance

The company has paid first instalment of Rs.56 crore to the Godda district corporation to compensate the land losers.
Adani Power has got environmental clearance for its Godda plant of 1600 MW capacity. The committee from the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) has sanctioned the clearance for the plant after considering necessary environmental norms.
The company has paid first instalment of Rs.56 crore to the Godda district corporation to compensate the land losers.
Further, the company plans to spend Rs.14 crore under its CSR activities in the district for improvement of education, sanitation, drinking water, healthcare and plantation initiatives.
The plant in Godda district is an international agreement between Government of India and Bangladesh for transmitting the power generated through the twin thermal units to the neighbouring country.
The agreement also includes the Jharkhand government for contributing its resources. The Jharkhand State will be getting 25% of the total power generation capacity.
Adani Power is engaged in the generation and transmission of electricity through thermal and solar energy sources in India. It has five power projects with a combined installed and commissioned capacity of 10480 MW.
Today, the stock opened at Rs. 30.20, and touched an intraday high and low of Rs. 30.40 and Rs. 30.05 respectively. At 11:56 am, the stock was trading at Rs. 30.15 on the BSE.
