India is likely to emerge as one of the biggest markets for IT services as well as for hardware. This was stated by Keshav Murugesh, Global CEO of WNS, a global business process outsourcing player, while interacting with a national news agency. According to him, progress in the IT sector will be driven by all the steps that the Indian government is taking, whether it is around the whole digital journey across government and other sectors, the projects being undertaken in individual states as well as the new BPM (business process management) policy.
“In the coming years India will be one of the biggest and most attractive markets in the world,” he said. China will also be a very crucial player in the market, said Murugesh, adding that it is already getting penetrated quite well. Further, he refuted reports that the IT sector is resulting in job loss in India, stating that job creation in India was far higher than job losses.
