Europe markets open lower

The pan-European Stoxx 600 was 0.67% lower shortly after the opening bell with all sectors and major bourses in negative territory.

Markets in Europe opened lower after US tech shares retreated from recent highs.

On Wall Street, investors were unsettled by a sudden drop in technology and transport shares on Thursday. Amazon – up almost 40% this year – posted a slump in profits on Thursday and slipped 3% after the closing bell.
 
German DAX traded lower by 0.64% or 78.54 points at 12,133 level. The index has only 2 advances and 27 declines.
 
French CAC 40 traded lower by 1.06% at 54.45 points at 5,131.00. The index has 3 advances and 37 declines.
 
Spain’s IBEX35 traded lower by 0.36% or 38 points at 10,565 levels. The index has 7 advances and 28 declines.
 
Euro Stoxx 35 traded lower by 0.62% at 21.65 points at 3,465 levels. The index gained 4 advances and 44 declines.
