Mauritius government awards Rs 3,375 crore contract to L&T

Larsen & Toubro on Wednesday announced that it has bagged an order worth Rs 3,375 crore from Mauritius government-owned Metro Express to design and build an integrated light rail-based urban transit system in the African island nation.

The company also informed that the contract was signed on July 31, 2017 adding that the project has been won against competition and will be fully funded through a Government of India’s grant of line of credit.
 
Larsen & Toubro was trading at Rs 1,179.50, down by Rs 9.45 or 0.79% as at 1115 hours on Wednesday, on the BSE. The stock attracted traded volume of 7,92,225 shares and traded value of Rs 9,336.37 on the NSE.
