Nifty, Sensex close marginally down ; NTPC top Sensex gainer

Sensex closed marginally in red at 32476 levels, down by 98 points or 0.30 per cent. Nifty closed at 10081 levels , down by 33 points or 0.33 per cent.

NTPC was the top Sensex gainer , closing up by 4 per cent followed by Hero Motors and Adani Ports which gained 2.12 per cent and 2.08 per cent respectively. Lupin gained 1.60 per cent, RIL climbed 1.59 per cent and Cipla inched up by 0.69 per cent. 

Sun Pharma slipped 1.95 per cent. Dr Reddy was down by 1.93 per cent. Tata Motors, Kotak Bank, TCS, Infosys, Powergrid, Hindustan Uniliver, ONGC and L&T were down by more than 1 per cent each. 

BSE IT index was the worst performing sectoral index, slipping down by 0.88 per cent. BSE FMCG was down by 0.76 per cent. 

BSE Consumer durables was the top sectoral index gainer, inching up by 1.12 per cent. BSE Energy index was up by 0.68 per cent.
