Maruti Suzuki India announced on Thursday that the company will introduce Auto Gear Shift (AGS) option in top-end Alpha trim of its premium urban vehicle - IGNIS.

AGS technology has made two-pedal transmission more affordable, offering fuel efficiency at par with manual transmission. AGS is offered in both petrol and diesel variants of IGNIS.
IGNIS, which is built on a new generation rigid platform embodying Suzuki Total Effective Control Technology (TECT) for occupant protection, was launched in January 2017. It is compliant for pedestrian safety, side-impact and offset crash regulations ahead of regulation timeline.
However, the stock was trading lower by 0.72% at Rs 7,759 per share on BSE at 1031 hours. It attracted total traded volume of Rs 90,638 shares and traded value of Rs 7,053.23 lakh on NSE at 1035 hours.
