Amazon India to help Telangana’s weavers and artisans

E-commerce giant Amazon India said that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telangana Department of Handloom and Textiles to educate, train, and enable weavers and artisans to directly sell their products to Amazon customers across the country, reported a national news agency.

Through this association, weavers and artisans in Telangana will be able to boost their business through training, enabling them to list and sell their products online in the marketplace, stated Amazon India, adding that they together will conduct various training programs, including computer and internet training sessions and registration assistance programs. Amazon also said that the partnership also intends to empower and generate livelihood opportunities and income for the artisans and boost their economy.
