Axis Bank top loser in Bank Nifty index

Bank Nifty was trading at its low point of the day during post-lunch hour on Wednesday. Down by 187 points, the index was trading at 24,408 level.

Axis Bank was the top loser in the index trading at Rs 489 per share, down by Rs 10.45 per share or 2.09%.
On the put side, open positions were not concentrated at specific strike prices. On the options front, Bank Nifty call options at strike prices of above 25,000 witnessed profit booking while other out-the-money call options witnessed strong short built up position.
On the futures front, Bank Nifty futures of August series was trading at a premium of 133 points. Bank Nifty’ support level may be placed around 24,350 followed by 24,155 while 24,750 may act as strong resistance on the upside.
