BSE Auto index loses traction by over 2%

S&P BSE Auto was trading lower by over 2% at the 23,832 level during Thursday’s trading session at 0953 hours.

S&P BSE Auto was trading lower by over 2% at the 23,832 level during Thursday’s trading session at 0953 hours. Tata Motors is contributing majorly to the index losses on the back of weak Q1FY18 results posted on Wednesday. The stock was trading lower by 5.43% at Rs 394 per share.
 
Tata Motors is contributing more than 200 points to Auto index loss. At the same time, Maruti Suzuki India, Eicher Motors and Motherson Sumi Systems were contributing almost 40 points each to the S&P BSE Auto index loss.
 
Among other auto stocks, Ashok Leyland was trading lower by 1.87% at Rs 107 per share, Motherson Sumi dropped by 1.82% at Rs 324 per share, Exide Industries was trading down by 1.64% at Rs 203 per share, and Eicher Motors was down by 1.35% at Rs 31,094 per share. 
 
On the other hand, MRF was trading up by 0.66% at Rs 66,190 per share, Hero MotoCorp was trading higher by 0.54% at Rs 3,905 per share, Bharat Forge was up by 0.39% at Rs 1,172 per share and Cummins is trading flat.
