BSE Telecom index unable to shed its losing streak

Continuing to maintain its losing run for the sixth session, the BSE Telecom index was trading 0.48% lower at the 1,386 level at 1235 IST on Friday’s intra-day trade.

Vindhya Telelinks is down 2.71% at Rs 989.00 per share, Reliance Communications is down 2.36% at Rs 20.70 per share, Sterlite Technologies is down 0.97% at Rs 210.35 per share, and MTNL is down 0.84% at Rs 17.65 per share.
Reliance Communications witnessed some selling on reports that the NCLT is set to pronounce its decision on Monday on whether or not to consider the proposal of a merger between Reliance Communications' wireless business and Aircel .
On the contrary, ITI is up 5.82% at Rs 80.90 per share, OnMobile Global is up 3.28% at Rs 56.75 per share, and Tata Communications is up 1.92% at Rs 601.00 per share. In the Nifty 50 pack, 14 scrips are gaining in trade while the remaining 51 scrips are trading in the red.
