Sun Pharma loses over 3.5% in today’s trade

With its weak Q1FY18 figures, pharmaceutical major Sun Pharmaceutical Industries lost over 3.5% in the early morning trade today.

With its weak Q1FY18 figures, pharmaceutical major Sun Pharmaceutical Industries lost over 3.5% in the early morning trade today. The company’s revenue for the quarter was Rs 6,167 crore, posting 23% YoY decline. The EBITDA for the quarter fell by 53.2% YoY to Rs 1,400 crore and there was a net loss of Rs 321 crore as against net profit of Rs 2,268 crore in Q1FY17. This was due to a one-time exceptional provision of Rs 950 crore for settlements with Apotex Corporation and retail purchasers.
 
Sun Pharma was trading at Rs 437.90 per share, down by Rs 437.90 or 2.97% as at 0918 hours on Monday, on the BSE. The stock attracted a traded volume of 19,82,456 shares and traded value of Rs 8,693.66 lakh on the NSE.
