While delivering an address to the nation on the occasion of the 71st Independence Day on August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that efficiency has increased in the transport sector by 30% because of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
“GST, which unified more than a dozen central and state levies, is a result of cooperative federalism and its smooth rollout from July 1 has increased efficiencies of business,” he said. The steps taken by the government will benefit the country and with GST the country will benefit, he added.
