Markets may rise on positive global cues

On Wednesday, the investors and traders have a reason to smile in morning trade as the SGX Nifty suggests the Indian benchmark indices may open in green after six days of straight losses. The Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange were trading at 9,887 with gains of 31 points.
The Indian benchmark indices ended Tuesday’s session with modest losses but off the lows of the day. Trading session started on a negative note and selling pressure continued in the first half of the session, but bulls staged a smart recovery in the second half of trading session and trim losses to end flat. Nifty ended the day at 9,872 and Sensex closed at 31,600.
The European markets witnessed a lacklustre movement and ended mixed on Tuesday. The German DAX Index added 0.08%. The French CAC 40 Index inched up 0.03% and the FTSE 100 of the UK shed 0.21%.
The US’ stocks ended flat on Tuesday; however technology shares lent support to the Nasdaq. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 12 points to 22,284. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 10 points to 6,380 and the S&P 500 remained almost unchanged. Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen said there is a risk that the labor market could become overheated, causing an inflation problem down the road and she cautioned against moving too slowly on interest rates.
Majority of Asian indices were trading in the positive territory on Wednesday. The Hong Kong’s Hang Seng has added 135 points and t he China’s Shanghai Composite gained one point. On the other hand, the Nikkei 225 has slipped 59 points.
