Grasim PAT tanks 36 per cent QoQ

The company reported PAT of Rs. 799 crore which represents a sequential QoQ decline of 36 per cent and a YoY decline of 26.7 per cent.
Grasim reported weak results for the quarter ended September 30, 2017 on Tuesday.
Total sales for Q2FY18 came in at Rs. 13,645.7 crore. This represents a 24.2 per cent sequential increase and 45.8 per cent YoY increase.
Operating profit (EBIT) for the recently concluded quarter amounted to Rs. 2,031.2 crore and the EBIT margin stood at 14.9 per cent.

On Tuesday, the stock opened at Rs. 1,223 and touched an intra-day high and low of Rs. 1,236.5 and Rs. 1,203.9, respectively, on the BSE.
The company's segments include viscose staple fibre and wood pulp; cement, which includes grey, white and allied products; chemicals, which include caustic soda and allied chemicals, and others, which includes textiles. Some of its products are viscose staple fibre, rayon grade pulp, grey cement, white cement and textiles.
