Markets End on a Positive Note

 Post Market Summary

The Indian markets for the straight second day followed the same trend. The markets witnessed buying in the afternoon trades to close in green. The Sensex closed the day in green gaining 166 points to close at 16876 while Nifty ends at 5075 up by 63 points. Almost all the sectoral indices closed in green with the exceptions being the FMCG and Capital Goods index that closed flat in red. The main contributor in today’s trading session is the Realty index that closed up by more than three percentage points followed by IT, Teck and Banking indices. The overall market breadth is positive with 1546 advances as against 1235 declines. On the global front, European stocks climbed for a third day as assurance from Germany and France that Greece will remain a member of the euro outweighed a $2 billion trading loss at UBS AG. Asian shares and U.S. index futures gained.
