The markets opened positive and closed above 5000 level at 5003. Market saw buying in sectors like Bank, Auto and Oil & Gas. Major sectoral indices ended in green. The Sensex closed at 16,666 up 279 points after trading in the range of 16,695-16,331. Nifty closed at 5,003 up 86 points after trading in the range of 5,017-4898.
