The company is in the business of manufacturing pigments, which basically add colour to every-thing around us. ASCL was promoted by Mrs Paru M. Jaykrishna, who has a rich business experience in the field of manufacturing pigments and chemicals and in the travel industry. Jaykrishna started the pigment manufacturing activities in 1994 by setting up a plant at Kadi, Mehsana in Gujarat. She was also the president of the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), the first lady to be elected to this post in the Chamber’s history.
Well supported by her sons, Gokul Jaykrishna and Munjal Jaykrishna, the group has achieved many export and excellence awards during the last 10 years. ASCL recently won the “Outstanding Exporter of the Year 2010-2011: Chemical” award instituted by the CNBC-TV 18 and DHL International Trade Awards 2010-11. Receiving the award at the hands of Shri R P N Singh, Honourable Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, Government of India, in September 2011, Mrs Paru M. Jaykrishna, Chairperson and Managing Director said, “We are very proud and delighted to receive the award. We are winning the award for the second time, earlier we have won the award in 2008-09. The company has delivered consistent results during the last few years”. The award is a unique platform that recognises Indian exporters and importers who have performed exceptionally well in the dynamic market scenario. It is an initiative to identify the nation’s most successful businesses, who, apart from building foreign exchange reserves for the country, have made India the new world trade hub with their achievements. ASCL aims to become a market leader in the pigment industry. It has been investing sensibly towards this goal, and has already laid out Rs 40 crore to enhance its production capacity of pigments, from the present level of 11000 tonnes a year to 15000 tonnes a year, including expansion of its Beta Blue pigment capacity to 3000 tonnes a year.
