Market inched higher on inflation number

Indian markets after opening on a positive noted remained flat throughout the day however regained strength after the release of the inflation data.
Indian markets after opening on a positive noted remained flat throughout the day however regained strength after the release of the inflation data. The inflation came down to 6.55% from 7.4%. The market seems to be in the consolidation mode with both the Index Sensex and Nifty closed with gains 0.14% and 0.16% respectively.

The European markets today too opened on a negative note on back of the rate cut by moody which worried investors over the austerity measures taken for Greek debt revival.
Back home among the BSE sectoral indices barring Oil&gas and Pharma all other indices closed on a positive note. Among the leaders CG, Realty and Auto closed with gains of 3.03%, 2.32% and 2.28% respectively.

Among the Sensex share BHEL, DL, HDFC, Hero Motocorp, Hindalco, L&T, M&M, Maruti Suzuki SBI, and Tata motors are leading the index with gains between 2% to 5%. While on the losers pack Cipla is leading with losses of 6.26%. Among other losers Bharti Airtel, RIL and Tata Power, etc are down between 1.65 to 3.56%.
Dow Jones Futures is currently trading 72 points or 0.57% up at 12874, indicating a positive sentiment in the US markets.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was positive. Out of 3298 stocks traded, 1676 advanced while 1529 stocks declined. A total of 93 stocks remained unchanged.
