Chandrakant / 07 Mar 2012

After extending their losses earlier, the Indian markets regained some of the losses in the late afternoon trade and ended on a marginally negative note.

After extending their losses earlier, the Indian markets regained some of the losses in the late afternoon trade and ended on a marginally negative note. Weak global cues kept the investors' nerves tense for the day, but the European markets gaining some momentum lifted the sentiment. The Sensex and Nifty closed down by 0.16% and 0.04% respectively, with Nifty holding the important 5200 level mark.

Other Asian markets have continued their negative closing over the past two days, as investors are seen concerned over global growth with China reducing its growth target to 7.5% for the year 2012.

After having a flat negative opening, the European markets regained some positive momentum later.

Dow Jones Futures is currently trading 56 points or 0.44% up at 12800, indicating a positive sentiment in the US markets.
