Earlier today, the Asian markets closed in the positive territory. The Hang Seng, Nikkei as well as the Shanghai were up by 1.04%, 0.50 and 0.30% respectively. Investors were seen purchasing stocks that were oversold previously, as hopes for a fresh global stimulus continued to be the underlying sentiment.
The European markets continued to trade with optimism, with the FTSE, CAC and DAX trading higher by 0.52%, 0.49% and 0.80% respectively. Weak earning numbers and lukewarm growth figures in the region have raised hopes of further stimulus measures from the region's policymakers. Data showed that the GDP in the Euro zone shrank by 0.2% in the second quarter as compared to that in the previous 3 months, and by 0.4% as compared with that a year earlier.
Dow Jones Futures is currently trading 26 points or 0.20% up at 13163, indicating a positive sentiment in the US markets.
