It Is Tempting To Say "We Told You So"...

The markets have shown a consistently positive trend for over a week now, and the rally at the end of the week has only provided a springboard effect. In our view, we have seen through the bottom.

It is indeed quite tempting for us to say “we told you so”, but that would be like blowing our own trumpet. But undertaking diligent research, reading the trends correctly and attempting to give our readers an advance insight into the markets and their performance has been a 26-year old quest for us.

The markets have shown a consistently positive trend for over a week now, and the rally at the end of the week has only provided a springboard effect. In our view, we have seen through the bottom.

Over the past few issues, we have been among those rare, yet consistent optimists about the markets turning around. This belief was not mere posturing, but was based on our experience of reading and correctly judging the impact of the macro politico-economic indices on the markets, supported by our research team burrowing deep into analytical nuances that helped us corroborate our predictions.

Our cover story in the last issue was, in fact, a conjecture. We had asked, “Has The Bull Run Begun?”, and it seems that the markets themselves have answered this very vital question!

I have been very optimistic about our Finance Minister’s prowess at handling tricky economic situations. He has done it in the past, and is currently showcasing his capability to repeat that feat quite well. I should say that good sense has finally prevailed on our decision–makers, who first of all brought back an FM who could deliver on the promise of putting the economy back on track, and secondly, supported him in his endeavour wholeheartedly.

At this juncture, we would like make a point of caution. Though we were successful in predicting the bottom, we see the immediate upward ride fraught with volatility. From a position of policy paralysis, a sudden burst of policy making will not have a smooth overall acceptance, especially considering the general elections in the near future. Besides, even technically, heavy and long-term turnaround moments have inherent built-in stochastic improbabilities.

Have a safe ride, and we assure you that we will be with you, giving you actionable advice as always.
