The Indian markets regained its lost ground in the second half of the day taking cues from its European markets. Almost all the sectoral and broader indices closed the day on a positive note regaining their position from the morning. The main gainers for the day are FMCG, Oil & Gas and Auto indices gaining more than one percentage points. The Sensex closed the day in green gaining 166.81 points or 0.95 percentage points to close at 17,700.90. Nifty ends the day at 5312.50 gaining 56.35 points or 1.07 percentage points. Market breadth was positive with 1,598 advances against 1,266 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks rose, rebounding from the biggest drop in six weeks, after a European Central Bank tender showed the region’s lenders may be becoming less reliant on central bank funding. U.S. index futures gained, while Asian shares declined.
