The Indian markets witnessed lacklustre trade in today’s session to closed the on a negative note. Almost all the sectoral and broader indices closed the day on a negative note with the exceptions being the Banking and the PSU indices. The main draggers for the day are Capital Goods, Metal and Realty indices closing the day in red declining nearly half percentage points. The Sensex closed the day in red declining 48.38 points or 0.28 percentage points to close at 17,460.95. Nifty ends the day at 5237.10 declining 14.30 points or 0.27 percentage points. Market breadth was positive with 1,445 advances against 1,430 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks gained as the Stoxx Europe 600 Index rebounded from a five-week low. Asian shares fell, while U.S. index futures were little changed before the Labor Department’s monthly payrolls report.
