As per the streets expectations, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has slashed the repo rate by 25 basis points to 7.75%, however surprised the streets with CRR cut of 25 basis points to 4%.
As per the streets expectations, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has slashed the repo rate by 25 basis points to 7.75% and reverse repo also by 25 basis points to 6.75% . Further it surprised, by slashing Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) by 25 basis points to 4% in its January 29, 2013 monetary meet.
Markets had already factored in 25 basis points rate cut however CRR cut would help the market to move northwards.
