Markets Cross 19000 Mark, Bankex Surges

The Indian markets saw a positive move in the mid session of trade to remain firm in the last one hour of the final trading day of this week. Nifty closed with gains at 5783 and Sensex closed at 19,016. Both the indices ended in green with gains between 1.66%-1.55%.

The advance–decline ratio ended on a positive side at the end of day. On the NSE, 785 shares closed in green and 535 shares closed in red.
Top 5 NSE Gainers: IndusInd bank ended up by 7.33% as the top gainer on the NSE, followed by IDFC, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors and Axis Bank.
Top 5 NSE Losers: NMDC ended the day as the top loser on the NSE, down by 2.4%, followed by HCL Tech, Grasim, TCS and Dr Reddy’s Labs.
All the sectors ended on a positive note, while IT ended with a red mark, down by 0.3%. Banks ended on a positive note by 2.3%, Capital Goods, Consumer Durables & Auto ended with gains, Oil & Gas and Realty ended with up too, as FMCG, Power, Healthcare and Metals ended with minor gains.
The Asian markets closed in a negative zone and Japan’s Nikkei was the top loser among the Asian indices and closed at 13,220, down by 161 points. Hang Seng was down by 57 points, KOSPI, and China’s Shanghai Composite closed flat on a negative note.
Buzzers: IndusInd Bank was the top gainer, up by 7.2%. This private sector has posted a 37.6% jump in net profit at Rs 307.40 crore for its fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013.The bank had a net profit of Rs 223.38 crore. The stock then made a high of Rs 455 and ended above the major hurdle at Rs 450.
A deep correction in gold prices has spurred demand for branded jewellery which has benefited Titan Industries in the short run. Titan's Q4 sales grew by 17% as the stock ended on a positive note at Rs 259, up by 5.3%. If it crosses Rs 265, we will see a further upmove for the next trading session.
Axis Bank, L&T, HDFC, and JSW Energy were the gainers at the end of the day.
Nifty has given a fresh breakout for the next week. If it manages to sustain above these levels, we can see a further upmove to 5850.
