Market Direction Less, IIP & CPI Ahead

The Indian markets have opened on a negative note after seeing some sell-off in yesterday’s closing session. The global markets were trading in the negative zone in the morning session. The Nifty opened at 5781 and Sensex was down at 19,101. Both the indices opened down in the range of 0.22%-0.28%.

The Nifty opened with a negative bias of 6 points at 5781 and Sensex was down by 40 points at 19,101. Both the indices opened down in the range of 0.22%-0.28%.

The advance-decline ratio is on the negative side in the morning session. On the NSE, 628 shares are trading in gains and 707 shares are down.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: IndusInd Bank is the top Nifty gainer so far, up by 2.1%, followed by DLF, Lupin, IDFC and JP Associates.  

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Hero MotoCorp is the top loser this morning, trading down by 2.7%, followed by Bajaj Auto, Axis Bank, Jindal Steel and Coal India.

Six out of 13 sectors are trading in the red zone. Consumer Durables is the top loser, trading down by 331 points. Metals and Auto are also down by 85 points and 65 points respectively. However, Oil & Gas and Banks are the top gainers, up by 53 points and 37 points correspondingly.

On the global front, the Asian shares are trading with a negative sentiment. The Hang Seng market is closed for today’s session. Nikkei is the top loser, down by 122 points while KOSPI, and Shanghai are trading on a negative note.

Buzzers: JSW Steel opened with some negative sentiment and crashed by 3.9%. The stock is trading low at Rs 672.50 and broke its stiff support in the morning session at Rs 690. If it breaks this level, we will see a down-move up to Rs 650 in the further trading sessions.   

Nifty broke its strong support at the 5770 level. We may see a move up to the 5720 level for the further trading session.
