Post Market Summary
The Indian markets after trading the major part of the day above the 18000 mark declined in the wee hours of trade to close the day on a flat note in the negative territory. IT, Teck and Metal indices are the main draggers for the day as they closed the day on a negative note declining by one percentage points. The Capital Goods index provided some support to the market as it closed the day in positive gaining more than one percentage points. The Sensex closed the day in red declining 47.74 points or 0.27 percentage points to close at 17,938.16. Nifty ends the day at 5386.15 declining 14.50 points or 0.27 percentage points. Market breadth was negative with 1,261 advances against 1,657 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks declined after a six-day rally pushed the Stoxx Europe 600 Index’s valuation to the highest level in two months.
