Markets Crash, Nifty Tanks More Than 100 Points

The Indian markets have crashed in the morning trading session after seeing a sell-off in the US markets. The rupee hit an all-time low against the USD. The Nifty opened with a negative bias at 5703 and Sensex was down at 18,880. Both the indices opened down in the range of 2.0%-1.96%.

The Nifty opened with a negative bias of 119 points at 5703 and Sensex was down by 368 points at 18,880. Both the indices opened down in the range of 2.0%-1.96%.

The advance-decline ratio is on the negative side in the morning session. On the NSE, 267 shares are trading in gains and 1079 shares are down.

Top Nifty Gainers: Infosys is the only gainer for today’s session, up by 0.27%.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Jindal Steel is the top loser this morning, trading down by 5.7%, followed by DLF, Tata Steel, Hindalco, and JP Associates.

On the sectoral view, 12 out of 13 sectors are trading in the red zone. Bankex is the top loser, trading down by 369 points. Metals and Capital Goods are also down by 288 points and 177 points respectively. IT is the only sector trading on a positive note.

On the global front, the Asian shares are trading with a negative sentiment. The Hang Seng market is the top loser for today’s session, down by 528 points. Nikkei market is down by 169 points while the Taiwan, Shanghai and KOSPI markets are trading on a negative note too.

Buzzers: DLF opened with a negative sentiment, down by 5.6%. The stock made a new 52-week low at Rs 177.25. It broke its support at the Rs 190 level. If it breaks this level, we will see a down-move up to Rs 170 in the further trading sessions.

The INR hit an all-time low at Rs 60.06/USD. If the USD manages to hold above this level, we may see an up-move.

The Nifty broke all its support levels in the morning trading session. If it sustains below 5700, we can see a sell-off in the further trading sessions.
