Markets Open Weak, Nifty Holds 5600

The Indian markets opened weak in the morning trading session after seeing a sell-off in the previous session. The global markets were seen trading in the negative zone this morning. The Nifty opened with a negative bias at 5636 and Sensex was down at 18,668. Both the indices opened down in the range of 0.34%-0.26%.

The Nifty opened with a negative bias of 20 points at 5636 and Sensex was down by 53 points at 18,668. Both the indices opened down in the range of 0.34%-0.26%.
The advance-decline ratio is on the negative side in the morning session. On the NSE, 430 shares are trading in gains and 850 shares are down.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Infosys is the top gainer for today’s session, up by 1.68%, followed by Reliance, Bharti Airtel, TCS and Tata Power.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Jindal Steel is the top loser this morning, trading down by 3.9%, followed by IDFC, Hindalco, JP Associates and ACC.
On the sectoral view, 10 out of 13 sectors are trading in the red zone. Bankex is the top loser trading this morning, down by 126 points. Metals and Auto are also down by 100 points and 89 points respectively. IT is trading on a positive note, up by 66 points.
On the global front, the Asian shares are trading with a negative sentiment. The Hang Seng market is the top loser for today’s session, down by 298 points. Nikkei is down by 101 point while the Taiwan, Shanghai and KOSPI markets are also trading on a negative note.
Buzzers: Hindalco opened with a negative sentiment, down by 1.6%. The stock made a new low at Rs 95 and broke its support in the morning session at Rs 96. If it breaks this level we will see a down-move up to Rs 91 in the further trading sessions.
If Nifty sustains above 5600, we may see some a short covering from the current levels.
