DSIJ Intelligence / 15 Jul 2010
Post Market Summary
The Indian markets witnessed a lacklustre session in today’s trade as they close the day on a flat note in red. The main draggers for the day are the PSU, Oil & Gas and Realty indices declining more than half percentage points while Consumer Durables, FMCG and IT indices provided some support to the markets gaining more than half percentage points. The Sensex closed the day in red declining 28.70 points or 0.16 percentage points to close at 17,909.46. Nifty ends the day at 5378.75 declining 7.40 points or 0.14 percentage points. Market breadth was negative with 1,365 advances against 1,535 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks fluctuated as the Federal Reserve’s assessment that the economic outlook has “softened” and slowing Chinese growth offset a Spanish bond sale that drew increased demand. Asian shares retreated, while U.S. index futures were little changed.
