Sensex Nears 18500, Bankex Still Higher

The Indian markets have witnessed positive trades in the mid-market session. The Nifty is up by 43 points at 5452 and Sensex gained 154 points to move to 18466.
The Indian markets witnessed positive trades in the mid-market session, with all the sectors in the green zone. The Nifty is up by 43 points at 5452 and Sensex gained 154 points to move to 18466. Both the indices are higher by 0.80%.
The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side. On the NSE, 1771 shares are in the green and 1532 shares are in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: BHEL is leading the gainers list so far, up by 8.3%. Tata Power, HCL Tech, Jindal Steel and Tata Motors are also trading higher.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: DLF is down by 5%, followed by UltraTech Cement, Sesa Goa, Bharti Airtel and Hindalco.
Among the sectoral indices, Auto is the top gainer at this hour, up by 139 points. Bankex is up by 123 points and Oil & Gas gained 92 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are both also in positives, having gained 35 points.
The Asian markets are still trading on a mixed note. The Hang Seng is seeing some weakness and is down by 31 points. The Nikkei has moved up by 295 points, and Straits Times and KOSPI are also trading positive.
Buzzer: DLF opened with a negative sentiment and did not manage to hold above the technical level of Rs 140. The stock has made a low of Rs 135.80 in today’s trading session. If it closes below this level, it may move further down to Rs 120.
Nifty Futures are volatile but are trading above the 5440 level, which is a positive sign for the closing session.
