Indices End The Day With Nominal Gains

The Indian markets witnessed choppy trade after the mid-market session today. Sectors like Healthcare, Metals and IT provided some strength to the proceedings, while on the other hand Bankex ended on a negative note.
The Indian markets witnessed choppy trade after the mid-market session today. Sectors like Healthcare, Metals and IT provided some strength to the proceedings, while on the other hand Bankex ended on a negative note. The Nifty ended with gain by mere 4 points to close at 5476 and Sensex closed at 18558 up by 39 points.
The advance-decline ratio was tilted towards the the positive side in the closing session. On the NSE, 1765 shares closed in green, while 1544 shares ended the day in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Sesa Goa closed the day as the top gainer on the NSE, up by 9.5%. It is followed by BHEL, JP Associates, Ranbaxy Labratories and Ambuja Cements were the others that closed the day on a positive note.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: IDFC was the top loser, down by 8.6%, followed by Axis Bank, GAIL, ONGC and ICICI Bank.
Most of the broader indices ended the day in green. Heathcare was the top gainer for the day, up by 96 points. It is followed by the Capital Goods and Metal indices which were up by 90 points and 81 points respectively. IT also saw good strength up more than 70 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps too closed in green.
On the Asian front, Nikkei ended the day lower by 24 points. On the other hand, Hang Seng closed up by 141 points. The Taiwan and KOSPI too ended on a positive note.
Buzzers: BHEL India's largest power equipment manufacturer, is gearing-up for a major transformation in the face of a historic rupee depreciation. The stock surged by 6.7% and made high at Rs 124.90 today.
The Rupee showing gradual down move as made new low at Rs 64.55.
The Nifty Future closed the near the pivot level which is 5470. Tomorrow’s opening will decide further move.
