Index Trade On A Positive Note, Expiry Ahead

The Indian markets continued with the pullback from yesterday’s session and opened on a positive note. The global markets too have been giving out positive vibes. Nifty is trading up by 53 points at 5338 and the Sensex is up by 200 points to trade at 18196.

Nifty is trading up by 53 points at 5338 and the Sensex is up by 200 points to trade at 18196. Both indices opened up in the range of 1.01-1.15%.
The advance-decline ratio has been same on the both the side in the morning session today. On the NSE, 1672 shares are trading in gains and 1643 shares are down.
Top Nifty Gainers: HDFC is the top gainer in today’s morning session and is up by 6.1%. It is followed by Sesa Goa, L&T, Asian Paints and HDFC Bank.
Top Nifty Losers: DLF is the top loser for today’s morning session and is trading lower by 3.1%. It is followed by Ranbaxy Labs, PNB, JP Associates and Coal India.
On the sectoral front, all the sectors are trading in the green. Capital Goods is the top gainer this morning session as it gained 153 points. It was followed by Consumer Durables and Oil & Gas, which were up by 117 points and 85 points respectively. Mid-caps and small-caps also trading with a with a positive bias. They were higher by 31 points and 28 points respectively, this morning.
Global Market also witnessed buying in morning session. Nikkei is the top gainer for so far as it is trading up by 112 points. It is followed by Hang Seng, which is up by 81 points. The KOSPI and the Straits Times too are trading with a positive bias.
Buzzers: Sesa Goa the stock open on positive sentiment and surged more than 4%. The scrip broke its major hurdle at Rs 170 and made intraday high at Rs 177.
Nifty Future is trading above its resistance of 5340. If it manages to sustain above this level one can expect expiry closing at near 5380-5400.
