Coal India Production, Offtake Below Target In August 2013
Coal production has remained 3% below target for the company, while offtake fell short by 1%

Coal India (CIL) reported its August production numbers on September 2. The company has fallen short of its targeted production by 3.2%. As regards coal offtake, the company has fallen short by 1.2%.

Overall, CIL expected to produce 32.73 MT of coal in August but actually managed to come up with 31.68 MT. The actual offtake was at 35.10 MT against the targeted offtake of 35.54 MT.

For this year so far, the company has reported a 2.7% deficit in the actual production numbers and a 3.6% shortfall in the actual offtake figure.

Following this announcement, CIL’s stock has come down 1% from an intraday high of Rs 258. By 12.45 PM, the stock was trading at Rs 255 apiece.
